I received this book as a gift from a friend and I am beyond grateful for it。 I cried at nearly every chapter。 Her words and stories prompted many conversations I needed to have with God but was either avoiding or completely unaware I needed。 She writes such powerful truths that are applicable to people in all stages of life。

This book is wonderful。 The chapters are easy to read， and it’s a book you can pick up and just pull a chapter out that speaks to you in that moment。 The pictures are beautiful， the recipes are delish。 I laughed reading this book， I cried reading this book。 It was such a beautiful insight into Alyssa’s life！ This book helped me to not feel alone during a hard season in life as well。 It’s a must read for sure！！

I came in to this book not knowing anything about the author。 And honestly， that was the most jarring and difficult part of getting in to the book， because the author doesn't introduce herself or her family or if she has a ministry or ANYTHING。 It was so strange。 She just jumped in to teaching points and advice and spiritual "guidance" without building any credibility with the reader at the forefront。 It took chapters before I realized she homeschooled。 Even longer before I realize I had actuall I came in to this book not knowing anything about the author。 And honestly， that was the most jarring and difficult part of getting in to the book， because the author doesn't introduce herself or her family or if she has a ministry or ANYTHING。 It was so strange。 She just jumped in to teaching points and advice and spiritual "guidance" without building any credibility with the reader at the forefront。 It took chapters before I realized she homeschooled。 Even longer before I realize I had actually heard of her husband， but honestly， I still even after reading the book， don't know what they do。 Are they business owners （I think so）？ Are you they in ministry （I think so）？ I don't know。 I didn't feel like the author put in that effort to create credibility or to create "relationship" through her writing。 She just jumped in headfirst as though we all knew her。The book felt like essays in things that she learned in her own life， which would potentially have hit differently had I been given insight into who she was and why the reader should care about her lessons learned （you know， other than her being a human being that God loves and we should all care for each other as humans。。。。but I mean as an author teaching people through their book）。 So that all set the tone of the book for me。 And I just felt kind of off with it。 I mean， throughout the book there are pictures （ a LOT of them） of their family and events and home。 And then I was like， is she an interior designer？ Is she a photographer？ Is she a lifestyle blogger？！ I DON'T KNOW！！！！！！！！ And still don't。 Because， I didn't even care enough to look her up on social media。Okay， I sound really critical right now。 And I don't mean to。 But I just felt like it was weirdly done。 Other than that， her writing was nice and straight forward。 The pictures are pretty。 There were some beautiful moments capture in her words。 I certainly felt the depth her heartache as she wrote about her miscarriage， as I experienced one similarly。 I just don't think I connected with the book or author as a whole。 And that kind of disappoints me because I get the feeling that we had a lot in common as I homeschool too and my husband is a business owner in ministry as well。 So I think I'm her ideal demographic。 But it missed the mark for me。 。。。more

This book literally could not have come at a better time for me！ It is like a cup of cold water to refresh a dry and weary soul and so encouraging with Gospel truth & Alyssa’s own life experiences！ Btw， like other people I was wondering if it would be mainly geared towards mothers and there are a few things from her own experiences as a mother that she shares， but as a single woman who has never been married or had kids， this one still had LOTS of encouragement to offer me！ Definitely recommend！

This book is beautifully presented。 The photographs throughout the book are beautiful。 I didn't realize that this book was all about the author and her faith。 I felt that the author made a lot of good points for women--finding time for oneself， being present， enjoying the small， everyday moments， not comparing oneself to others （especially with social media）， and loving oneself including all of one's imperfections。 However， I felt that the author focused too much on praying to God for things in This book is beautifully presented。 The photographs throughout the book are beautiful。 I didn't realize that this book was all about the author and her faith。 I felt that the author made a lot of good points for women--finding time for oneself， being present， enjoying the small， everyday moments， not comparing oneself to others （especially with social media）， and loving oneself including all of one's imperfections。 However， I felt that the author focused too much on praying to God for things in her life including material possessions， instead of working towards them herself。 I also felt that she may have benefited from professional therapy to work through some of her issues。 The recipes at the end of the book are a nice touch and look delicious， but I wish the author would have also included directions for crafts because the way she decorates her house looks lovely。 。。。more
